The ADVASA Visa card now supports USDC.

The ADVASA Visa card now supports payments in USD Coin (USDC) as well as conventional currency. The cardholder chooses which one to spend.

The card runs on FUKUPE, the earned wage access platform ADVASA operates in Japan through its subsidiary ADVASA Co., Ltd. FUKUPE lets an employee draw pay they have already earned before payday and receive it where they want it: a bank account, a supported prepaid card, or a digital wallet. USDC is now one more of those choices.

What the upgrade adds

  • USDC payments - on the existing ADVASA Visa card, alongside conventional currency
  • Where wages can land - bank accounts, supported prepaid cards and digital wallets, through FUKUPE
  • Who it is for - employees using FUKUPE to reach pay they have already earned

Why payment choice matters

Reaching a payment service still depends on having somewhere to receive money. The World Bank's Global Findex 2025 reports that approximately 1.3 billion adults worldwide have no financial account, and that approximately 900 million of them own a mobile phone. ADVASA's view is that widening the ways money can be received opens further routes to payment services for the people the conventional system reaches least, particularly where financial infrastructure is thin.

Real-world assets

ADVASA also intends to examine the real-world assets (RWA) sector, where physical and financial assets are represented as tokens. The asset tokenization market has been projected to reach approximately $18.9 trillion by 2033. Earned wage access remains the company's central work, and RWA is being looked at as an extension of the payment and technology infrastructure already built. No RWA product, partner or timetable has been announced.

The addition of USDC payment functionality to the ADVASA Visa card represents another step in expanding the payment capabilities available through our platform. As the digital payments landscape continues to evolve, we intend to further enhance our payment capabilities while also exploring potential opportunities in the RWA sector that may complement our broader financial technology ecosystem.
